Things that matter most...

March has been an insanely busy month for us and it just keeps getting more hectic! Jeremy has been busy with mid terms and work. I got a new calling at church and work has been crazy busy. I feel like the last three weeks have absolutely flown by. With everything being so busy it has made me reflect on the things that are most important in life. I decided today to write about the things that are most important to us and be grateful for the time we do have together.

Jeremy was on spring break this last week and it was so nice to have him home more and get to actually see him. We had a great time hanging out as a family. We got to take Britton to the pool, out to lunch, and spent A LOT of time at the park. Britton loves being outside and the weather cooperated for the most part. I absolutely love watching Jeremy play with Brit. If ever there was a little boy that idolized his daddy it is Brit. This is a picture of the two of them playing superheroes together:)

Britton is definitely is getting into the terrible two's. He is NOT a morning person and generally spends the first hour of the day and just after his nap being cranky. The good part about it though is when he is cranky he is very snuggly. I love when he first wakes up and he just sits on my lap and lays his head on my chest. There is no better feeling in the world!  Here is a picture of the little guy just after waking up and being forced to get dressed for the day...

In my new calling I have the opportunity to work more closely with the young women (ages 12-18) in my church. I am excited for the chance to hopefully influence them and help them. Being around them has made me reflect more on that time period in my life and the people that influenced me. I will be forever grateful for my seminary teachers, young women leaders, and friends that helped me become the person I am. I understand better now the concern that they had for me back then and am so thankful for their time, sacrifices, and testimonies. I see more clearly now that the choices I made during that time of my life have profoundly affected my life . I have no doubt that I would not be as happy as I am today without their love, support and encouragement. I am particularly grateful for my mother. I know I don't tell her enough, but she really did have a huge influence on me. I have never met anyone with a heart as big as hers. She is the epitome of selfless service and I am grateful for how she taught me to serve the Lord without thinking of herself. I am thankful for the sacrifices she made for me and I love you mom!!

This month has reminded me to pay attention to the things that really matter. For me that is my family and my faith. Without them I would be nothing. I am grateful to God for all of the blessings in my life and I know how abundantly blessed I am.
