May has been a really busy, but fun month for us. Lots of great things have happened. Our sweet Britton James turned 4 years old. At first as we told him that his birthday was coming up and he was going to be 4 he would start to cry because he really liked being three. His favorite number was three and he did not want to turn 4. Eventually he got used to the idea and was finally happy that his birthday was coming up. The morning started off with him waking up to his first present which was a bike. Then he went to school and got to tell his class all about himself and take them treats. After school his best friend Camden got to come home with them and they spent the day riding bikes and playing toys. Then Jeremy's family came over for pizza, cake, and presents. After having such a great day he determined that his new favorite # is 4! He is one loved and one spoiled little boy. He is an absolute joy and we love him to the moon and back!
His new bike!
The poster we made for school: His best friend Camden, he wants to be a superhero when he grows up, his stuffed dog is Scruffy, his favorite color is red, favorite book is dinosaur time, favorite food is chicken nuggets and watermelon.
Savannah is 11 months old and growing so fast. She is starting to stand on her own and take little steps. She is very timid though and not ready to walk just yet. This month she had to have a little surgery on her eye as she had a cyst growing on her eyelid. The doctor was not comfortable taking it out while she was awake so they had to knock her out to remove it. It was hard to watch her go under, but she did so well! She was an absolute champ. The hardest part was watching her wake up after the surgery. Her throat was sore from the breathing tube and as she cried she sounded like a hoarse seal. It was really sad. She was mad for about 15 minutes after she woke up and then she returned to her normal self. She is healing so well and hopefully her scar will fade with time! We love this beautiful girl and are so thankful for her!
Excited to be getting dressed...little did she know
She was very snuggly because she hadn't eaten since 8 p.m. the night before and we had to be there at 6 a.m. that morning. Tired and hungry babies are snuggly babies!
Loves her daddy
Right before the hand off...mom was sad!
In recovery and loving her pedialyte!
We are such good parents that we got Britton a chore chart for his birthday. Every day he has to make his bed, brush his teeth, get dressed, clean his room, pick up his toys, and read books before bed. Every week if he does his chores he gets to pick a prize. Over the Memorial day weekend we decided to take him to the Dinosaur Park in Ogden as a reward for doing his chores three weeks in a row! He was beyond excited. It was fun to watch him run around and see all of the dinosaurs. He loved it!
Doing his dinosaur roar!
One of Britton's favorites: The ankylosaurus
Sister was a champ...she tolerated the interruption of her nap time for brother's adventures
Comparing his hand to the dinosaur tracks
Looking for bones
Hugging a dinosaur leg
Helping sister down the slide
I had to throw this in because I love this face!
At the end of the month Britton graduated from his first year of preschool. He has grown so much! The change in him in the last 8 months is really crazy. I feel like he has gone from a toddler to a little boy. School has made him grow up and mature in such a short time. We are so thankful for his teachers--they have done a great job!
All decked out and ready to go
He did so good during the program. He sang all the songs and stayed on the stage--a huge improvement from the Christmas program :)
Getting his medal and his certificate
His amazing teachers Ms. Amber (he calls her Ambuhber) and Ms. Michelle
His best buddy Camden
May was an incredibly busy, but fun month. We feel so blessed to be where we are at in life. We have so much to be thankful for and I seriously don't take one second of it for granted. LOVE my cute family!
