Kylen Kevin Bergeson--March 2015

We are so excited that Kylen is finally here and that he is a part of our family!  The end of February/beginning of March was a rough go for me.  At 34 weeks into my pregnancy my midwife put me on bed rest. I was feeling sick and already starting to dilate and efface. Because Savannah came on her own at 36 weeks, my midwife wanted me to be careful and not to push myself. The goal was to make it 37 or 38 weeks.  I am not good at doing nothing and being still, so those few weeks were really hard on me.  I am not used to not working and not taking my kids out to play.  The weather was beautiful as well, which made it extra hard to stay down. I did my best though and it worked a little too well because little man got comfortable and didn't want to come out!

We watched a lot of movies and snuggled while mom was resting

I think Sav sensed that things were about to change for her and she spent a lot of time cuddling with me those last few weeks.

Then she started poking me in the eyes for fun....

36 weeks pregnant

38 weeks pregnant

39 weeks

One night while Sav and I were busy snuggling, Daddy decided to take Britton ice skating for the first time.  He had a blast!

Waving to mama 110!

Skating with a pro!

While I was on bed rest these two watched an incredible amount of TV.  We are going to have to spend the entire summer outside to make up for all the tv they watched those 5 weeks!!

When I got to 39 weeks into my pregnancy I was emotionally, physically, and mentally done being pregnant. My mid-wife finally had enough of my complaints and agreed to induce me! So on March 10th we headed to the hospital. Poor Jeremy had taken the week before off work because we thought Kylen would come earlier.  Unfortunately he has to submit for his vacation in January and it is based on seniority so he could not change it. He had to work the night before I was induced and got about 2 hours of sleep before we left for the hospital. We got to the hospital at 7:30 a.m. They started me on antibiotics first because I always test positive for the group b strep.  At 10:00 a.m. they started me on Pitocin. From there things went very quickly. A little after 3:00 p.m. I was completely dilated and effaced and it was time to get him here. Three pushes later Kylen was born at 3:23 p.m.!!  They now immediately put the babies on your chest and let them sit there for at least an hour before they weigh them and clean them up. That was a sweet hour. Kylen was awake and alert. He was looking around and already lifting his head. It was amazing to watch. Here are some pics of our hospital experience.

Jeremy trying to get some rest before the excitement started--love this hard working man!

Cheese head a few seconds after birth

He was my biggest baby at 7 lbs 7 oz and 19 inches long

This picture was taken right after his circumcision--he was less than thrilled!

He had his first bath the day after he was born. They had to give him a sponge bath because he had already had his circumcision--he hated having his body washed

He loved being wrapped back up and having his hair washed.

He kept stretching out his neck and enjoying the warm water on his head

All cleaned up--He looks so different than Brit and Sav. They were both so dark at birth and he is very fair!

His first outfit

Getting ready to come home! My brother and his girlfriend had this onesie made for him with Sharptooth printed on it--Britton loved it!

The kids did not get to come to the hospital because of RSV season. Britton and I were so disappointed and sad about this--He did not understand why he got to visit Savannah in the hospital, but not Kylen. So Britton had to wait until we got home to meet his brother. He was beyond excited when we got home. He loves Kylen so much and is very sweet with him.

Sav is adjusting pretty well. She is sweet to the baby and is always saying "Hi baby...Hi Ky" in her sweet little voice. She does not like me holding or nursing him. She often comes and tries to pull him off me and pull my shirt down when I am feeding him. But she is not mean to him and I am grateful for that.

Watching his first Red Wings game with daddy--he is good luck because the Wings won 5-1 :)
Sav is always covering Kylen with every blanket in the room. We have to watch her because she always covers his face first.

There is a baby under there somewhere...

She also likes to put his hats on.

Mimi and Papa came out to visit the Friday after Ky was born. It was so nice to have them here for a few days. They brought my niece and nephew with them and it was fun to be all together. While they were here they took Britton and cousin Kirk skiing for the first time. I was worried about how my very not athletic child would do, but apparently he did awesome!! So proud of him! Here are some pictures of their adventure:

We also went to the park and enjoyed the nice weather

We were also able to bless Kylen while my parents were still here so that my dad could participate in it. It was a special experience and I felt the spirit strongly that evening. I am thankful for a good husband who honors his priesthood and is able to use it in our home.

Kylen wore the same blessing outfit that Jeremy wore when he was blessed.

Kylen had a little bit of jaundice so we have been sun bathing every day in an effort to fight it--He enjoys it!!

SO CUTE!

He can't even handle his own cuteness!

We are so thankful for the safe arrival of our newest little one. Jeremy and I were talking the other day about how abundantly blessed we feel to have three healthy, beautiful kids. I am so thankful to my Heavenly Father for the opportunity I have to be a mother. My children are my life and I hope that I can be the mother they deserve.  They are precious souls and I want them to know how much we love and want them. We are beyond grateful for the trust Heavenly Father must have in us to give us these beautiful babies and hope we can raise them with love and faith.
