Fall 2016

It has been a busy few months and I have a lot to catch up on! I am using this blog as a history for our little family. Eventually I am going to print out copies and give it to our kids when they are older so that they can have snapshots into their childhood and so that we can have our memories. I am not much of a journal writer so I am grateful for these quick easy ways to document our lives for our kids.

Britton got his cast off towards the end of August. He was very brave when the doctor cut it off. It was just in time for us to enjoy the last bits of summer before he started 1st grade this year. It has been an adjustment having him gone all day for school. We miss him. Savannah misses him the most. She lost her playmate and she does not like having him gone...neither do I.

Being so brave

Happy to finally have his leg back!

His first fully submerged bath in 6 weeks!

Getting excited about going to school

Lining up at his portable waiting for class to start

This boy's imagination is incredible. I love listening to him play.

Here are some pictures from our last trip to the splash pads before school started. These munchkins had a good summer. They love being outside and they love getting wet.

Miss Savannah is really starting to come in to her own. She remains ever a daddy's girl and loves to be wherever he is. Her imagination is starting to develop and she is engaging more and more in play with Britton. The two of them could sit for hours in their rooms playing dinosaurs, legos, and princess castle. She adores her older brother--she also knows how to get under his skin and pick on him. She loves to tease him. She started a tumbling/dance class and loves it. We love our beautiful girl!

Too cute for words

Kylen turned 18 months old in September. He is a roller coaster of emotions. He vacillates between happiness and despair in about 2 seconds and is really getting good at his temper tantrums. He is very vocal in letting you know how he is feeling these days. Despite this, he remains an absolute joy. He has a sweet temperament and is very concerned about others. He is starting to talk more and more and I love listening to his sweet voice.

Just waking up

He loves to brush his teeth and will ask to do it several times a day

He likes to sit in this particular cupboard. He will open the door and sit in the same spot while I do dishes and make dinner. It's funny.

He is very independent and likes to use big people silverware

At the end of Sept/beginning of October we had the opportunity to go home to Illinois for my youngest brother's wedding. I love my family and miss them very much so I always look forward to chances to go see them. We had a great trip and it was nice to be with them during this special time. I am really happy for Dexter and Bailey and I am thankful that my cute kids got to be a part of their special day. Thank you guys for having us!

Ready for our adventure!

These two did great on the flight

Kylen wasn't really amused by it

Love these two

Mimi took Savy to get a pedicure and Sav was really pleased about it

She also loved the little kid shopping carts and picking out mints for the reception dinner

Savannah loved watering Mimi's flowers

So much so that she also started watering the grass, the trees, and her baby brother

Kylen was not a fan of the four wheeler

One of our favorite things about going home is being able to play with cousin Kirk. We love and miss him! These kids love their cousin.

Kirk and Britton got to be the ring bearers for the wedding and sweet Savannah was the flower girl

Boys being boys

I had to get this picture of him sleeping in the hotel before our flight back. So precious!!

Our fall wrapped up with a pretty great Halloween. The kids picked this pumpkin from the garden and were excited to carve it. We had a nice dinner with Jeremy's family and then went and did some trick or treating. We moved from Farmington to Woods Cross in the last few months and we are grateful to be closer to Jeremy's family. They are a big part of our lives and we are grateful for all they do for us and the influence they have on our kids.

Trick or Treat

Jeremy had a fight with appendicitis over Halloween weekend and the day after the festivities ended up in the ER having an appendectomy. He is recovering well and grateful that this experience is behind us.

It has been a great fall and we are looking forward to the Holiday season coming up. We feel very blessed and acknowledge the hand of the Lord in our lives. He is an ever present source of light and goodness in all that we do and we know from where our blessings come. In all things we express love and appreciation to God for the things we have.
